Above picture describes officers are pressure testing of immersion suits. This picture reminds me something; couple of years ago when this job used to done by the shore service man. For one of my last Wah Kwong vessel, office arranged shore service to check immersion suits in the USA. Chief officer was busy so I had to go to check the servicing. What I saw was the man trying to open/close the zippers so roughly that he could wear and tear it deliberately and they could supply new immersion suits. Understanding his bad intention, I had to stop him and canceled servicing at that port. Now, same job we can do on ship, pressure test, leak check, waxing of zippers, cleaning etc. Officers did the job nicely and happily better than shore service.
